When I decided to photograph the garden over the course of a year, I was not expecting how much of a positive impact it would have on me. In Japan, visiting parks for therapeutic effect is known as shinrin yoku, or "forest bathing".  Research shows that exposure to nature can positively effect our health.  Some studies even demonstrate that exercising while just watching a video of nature can have positive health benefits.  While I continue to be enchanted by the garden, I also have become more interested in these positive side effects. The year has passed, but as I discover new ways to capture the garden I continue to return.
