When I decided to photograph the garden over the course of a year, I was not expecting how much of a positive impact it would have on me. In Japan, visiting parks for therapeutic effect is known as shinrin yoku, or "forest bathing".  A number of studies have been done on how exposure to nature can positively effect your health.  Some even show that exercising while just watching a video of nature can have positive health benefits.  While I continue to be enchanted by the garden, I also have become more interested in these positive side effects. The year has passed, but as I discover new ways to capture the garden I continue to return.
