    FUN WITH ACRYLICS

This doesn't look like acrylic paint, you might say, and I'd have to agree. My artistic endeavors typically consist of photography, mixed media, video, watercolor and photoshop collage type things, so when I ripped open some canvasses and a box of acrylics last night I was not sure what the result would be. Let's just say it was experimental...

I want an art piece for a client that is a certain size, color and feel, so thought I might try to make it myself. Not being a huge painter, however, a little practice is necessary. Okay, a lot of practice. I did three small boards first, then it was either clean up the mess I made or play a bit more with the paint on the palette and brushes. I opened up some bigger canvasses and watered down bits of paint - hence the watercolor feel to two of the pieces. I have to say. I kind of like the circle piece. I think the pattern might be cool for a large scale textile, rug or wallpaper and the varying green and blue is kind of nice. Let's see if I can pull off the piece I want though, stay tuned.
